Kerala APCOS Employees Union will take out a protest march to the Milma Bahavan on Wednesday demanding 10 per cent margin to the Milk Societies and hike in subsidy of animal feeds among other things.
T N Pratapan MLA, will inaugurate the protest to be attended by diary farmers, milk society members and others, Kerala APCOS Employees Union Joint Action Council chairman U Baby said. Stating that the milk societies cannot run with the nominal margin given now, he said that milk societies could sustain only if the margin was increased by ten per cent. There should be an increase in the managerial subsidy and plan implementation. Apart from this, the price of animal feeds has gone up drastically which had shattered the farmers. “We demand that the subsidy of the animal feeds should be increased,” he said.
Kerala APCOS Employees Union general secretary C K Prashoban, Kisan Sabha district secretary Mangode Radhakrishnan and CITU district joint secretary V K Madhu will address the agitators, among others.
