The court's order came on a plea alleging KG Balakrishnan amassed wealth disproportionate to his sources of income.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed the Centre to take note of the allegations against former Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan in the Disproportionate Assets case.
The court said that the competent authority at the Centre should look into the allegations and decide accordingly, since there was a laid down procedure to remove a sitting NHRC chief.
The Supreme Court's order came on a petition that alleged that Balakrishnan had amassed wealth disproportionate to his sources of income.
