Price rise: Future costly for aam aadmi

SAMBALPUR: The days ahead seem to be filled with worry for the common people. Frequent price hikes have halted the aspirations of millions of people. From a man earning modest income to a housewife, all are concerned about the hike.Mina Dash of Pradhanpada is apprehensive about prices of essential commodities that would spiral after the rise in diesel price and the extra bucks she would have to dole out to the school van, in which her son travels to school.Similar sentiments were echoed by Rudrani Pradhan of Budharaja who remarked that it seems the UPA government was trying to strangulate people and cursed the weak opposition for its failure to turn the heat on the UPAGovernment.Krupa Sahu, a smalltime trader of pulses, of Ramgarh slum is worried with the declining demand for pulses. His family comprising nine  members, he wonders whether the ‘Aam Admi’ of the Congress is different from him. “Ever since the inflationary trend began his earning has dipped with the dip in demand for pulses.” Housewives of the town hope that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will waive cess and tax on diesel and LPG to ensure that the pinch of inflation spares the people of the State with Mamata Banerjee already declaring waiver of cess on LPG.
