Lack of decision making, policy and clarity on power sector has pushed Andhra Pradesh into a severe power crises, said Saurabh Patel, Gujarat minister for energy and petrochemical.
Speaking at a seminar on power crises, issues and solutions in AP here on Monday, he said Gujarat had surplus power. It was producing about 15,306 MW currently which would go up to 18,000 MW in the next 6 months against the demand of 13,000 MW.
Though AP had huge coal and other natural resources the government failed to make use of them mainly because the government couldn’t take firm decisions. AP could neither attract investments to establish power projects nor improve power production on its own, he felt.
