BANGALORE: The Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), in association with the Karnataka State Police, organised a programe to announce the opening of the Police Help Centre at the Bangalore International Airport, Devanahalli.The facility is located centrally at the east of the airport’s ATC tower. Speaking at the event, Hari Marar, president, BIAL operations, said, “The police authorities form an integral part of the security, law and order and traffic arrangements at the airport. The police help centre is a welcome addition to the BIAL and is an effort to smoothen passenger experience. Passengers can now find police help on hand in emergencies like baggage theft and loss of travel documents. City Police Commissioner Jyothi Prakash Mirji said, “We are happy to be present at this police help centre at BIAL. Passengers travelling via this airport can now file a First Information Report (FIR) here instead of going to Devanahalli police station which is 12 km away from the airport.” The police help centre will operate round-the-clock and have offices allocated for the Deputy Commissioner of Police /Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic Inspector and Station House Officer. The outpost will have six workstations, a detention room and pantry area.
