Mujeeb Jaihoon's mobile application, iJaihoon, was launched at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2011.

Dubai: Seeking to capitalise on the increasing fascination for smartphones, a young Sharjah-based Indian poet has come up with a mobile application containing poems from his collection and detailing his work. Mystic writer Mujeeb Jaihoon's mobile application, iJaihoon, dubbed as the 'App for the eye within,' was launched at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2011 by American poet and songwriter Michael Rothenberg.

He expressed hope that such endeavours will pave the way for other writers to explore the paradigm shift in the habits of book lovers. Jaihoon has released six books so far, most of them an anthology of his poems and two travelogues. Early last year, he published a Twitter-based travelogue, titled 'Mission Nizamuddin,' in which he travelled across Delhi, Punjab, UP and Rajasthan.

Currently available on Android phones, iJaihoon will be accessible on Apple-based gadgets shortly.
