THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Sangh Parivar outfits Hindu Aikya Vedi and Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram are in a catch-22 situation following the Devaprasnam at Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple as any open posture against the findings in the Devaprasnam would land them in deep crisis.RSS ideologue and director of Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram P Parameswaran had to make a brainstorming speech at the Parivar baithak held in Kochi on August 25 and 26 questioning Hindu Aikya Vedi’s stand appeasing Uthradom Thirunal Marthanda Varma, the head of the Travancore royal family, according to Parivar sources.Ever since the news of temple treasures appeared in the media Parameswaran has been urging the Hindu community to come to a common platform for the cause of protecting the treasures and make use of a part of the wealth for the uplift of weaker sections of Hindu community and for preserving the Hindu culture. He had been asking Hindu leaders to treat the opportunity as a God-given chance to protect the Hindu society using the treasures judiciously. He had also said that the treasures of heritage value and ritualistic importance should be kept in the temple itself and protected. While these suggestions had many takers, the royal family and their eulogists shrewdly trapped the Hindu Aikya Vedi leaders and large sections of believers by demanding a Devaprasnam to know the will of the Lord.By ringing the alarm bells under the cover of Devaprasnam, the royal family and their supporters could manage to distract the attention of the general public.According to sources in the S a n g h P a r i v a r , Parameswaran criticised the Aikya Vedi leaders’ stand toeing the line of the royal family. It is learnt that Parameswaran pointed out that had there been a Devaprasnam conducted on the eve of the landmark event such as temple entry proclamation and rulers had forbidden temple entry, the Hindu society in Kerala would have been shrunken to a third of its size
