KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday decided to transfer the palmolein import case to Thrissur Vigilance Court from the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court. The High Court administrative committee headed by the Acting Chief Justice took the decision by considering a request from Vigilance Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge P K Haneefa to transfer the case to another court. The Special Court, which had taken up the case for hearing on its own, on August 8 had ordered the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) to further investigate the involvement of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the case. After this order controversy popped up. Later the Special Judge requested the High Court to transfer the case to another court after there were personal accusations against him.Earlier this month, Government Chief Whip P C George had complained against Haneefa to the President and the Chief Justice of India. He had questioned the impartiality of the judge in the case.
