Paes advances, Sania exits Wimbledon

New Delhi: India have had mixed luck on the courts of Wimbledon on Wednesday.

Leander Paes has moved on with partner Martin Damm, while Sania Mirza's run in the women's doubles has come to an end in the third round.

Sania and partner Shahar Peer of Israel were beaten in a three-set encounter by top seeds Samantha Stosur of Australia and Lisa Raymond of the United States. The 16th seeds were beaten 6-0, 6-7, 6-1.

Lisa and Samantha lost the second set in tie-break, but either side of it, they won 11 out of 12 games to win 6-0, 6-7, 6-1 in the third round.

Meanwhile, Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm, seeded fifth, were too good for their American opponents Scott Lipsky and David Martin as they won 6-2, 6-4, 6-2.
