A day after the gunbattle in Udhampur which led to the arrest of Pakistani terrorist Usman Khan, an encounter has begun between security forces and terrorists in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
At least one terrorist, believed to be a Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative has died in the gunbattle. He has been identified as Talib Ahmed, a local resident.
The encounter is on between a joint team of Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Astan Mohalla area of Kakapora in Pulwama.
Reports said that security forces had cordoned off the area and surrounded a house where the terrorists are holed up. Security forces suspect that there may be two terrorists inside the house.
Further reports said that there were stone pelting in the area by local youth but they were dispersed by the police.
This comes a day after the Indian forces captured a Pakistani terrorist, Usman Khan alias Naved Khan, following a gunbattle in Udhampur that went on for hours.
