NTPC supplies school infrastructure

HYDERABAD: NTPC, a govt certified Maharatna PSU, has started a new initiative to improve infrastructure in government schools as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. Realising that even an uncomfortable bench can affect the quality of one's learning process, Janaki Venkateswaran, president, Dakshin Deepanjali Mahila Samithi of the NTPC, Southern Regional Headquarters, handed over 60 metal deskscum- benches to the government boys high school, Malkajgiri at a function held at the school premises on Tuesday.What makes it special is the fact that the furniture has been made by the inmates of the Warangal Central Prison.Janaki also handed over sports equipment, books for the library as well as notebooks to 80 students of Class X on the occasion.NTPC had earlier provided 207 metal desks and benches to the Zilla Parishad High School, Neredmet, and the Government Central Primary School, Neredmet.
