The IOA said all necessary security measures are in place ahead of the National Games in Guwahati from February 9.

New Delhi: The Indian Olympic Association has said all necessary security measures are in place for teams and athletes ahead of the 33rd National Games to be held in Guwahati from February 9.

"The Central and State Government have already taken necessary measures on security arrangements of the participating teams," IOA President Suresh Kalmadi said.

He also acknowledged Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's earlier promise of being fully prepared for the National Games, despite of the frequent attacks in the state by the ULFA.

"All competition venues are ready and the sports equipment is in place," Kalmadi was quoted in a press release.

All the participant Olympic associations have given their consent and filed their entry for the National Games, Kalmadi confirmed.
