Notification issued on vacant seat

HYDERABAD: Legislature Secretary S Raja Sadaram on Tuesday issued notification about the vacancy that has arisen to the Legislative Council from Legislative Assembly constituency following the resignation of former chief minister Konijeti Rosaiah on Tuesday morning. Election to the vacant seat is expected to take place within the next few months.According to Assembly sources, all 294 MLAs, including one nominated member, are eligible to elect a new member to the vacant seat. There will be no contest if election to the seat is unanimous. The Assembly members will be informed about the date of polling if there are more than two members in the contest which will take place within six months period.
