BANGALORE: Despite stating that there are no reports of drought in the state, Minister for Higher Education Dr V S Acharya said that farming activities in some districts were hampered due to scanty rainfall.Stating that the matter came up for discussion in the Cabinet, Acharya said that it has been decided to take precautionary measures to tackle any such situation if it crops up in future.Meanwhile, C P Yogeshwar, the new minister for Forests, Karnataka, held a meeting with all top state forest officials at Aranya Bhavan on Thursday.He called upon the officials to give priority to protection of wildlife.
