The Lucknow University has increased the undergraduate seats in arts and commerce streams in degree colleges from 60 to 80 per classroom. However, no seats have been increased in the BSc seats. Another decision was taken by LU to discontinue some of its self finance PG courses if there are not enough candidates.

The Lucknow University administration is busy sorting out the brawl that took place in the Management Girl’s Hostel where a first year MBA student was allegedly beaten up by her room-mate and other girls on Wednesday. Both the girls have been sent to their local guardians in order to resolve the issue.
Aligarh: Schools across city celebrate the spirit of Eid
The schools of the city celebrated the festival Eid on Thursday. Different cultural programmes were hosted in schools. Students of Rainbow International School presented recitation and dance programmes while students of Krishna International School showcased a cultural programme. The DPS students arranged a special prayer on the occasion of Eid.
Lucknow: ER to provide special trains for Shravani Mela
The Eastern Railways has decided to provide with special trains on the occasion of Sawan Mela to be held at Ayodhya. The trains will run between Gonda, Mankapur and Ayodhya from August 10 to 21. The special train from Gonda-Mankapur-Ayodhya will start from 10:30am and reach Ayodhya at 3:30 pm. The special train from Ayodhya will depart at 12:55pm and arrive at Gonda at 3:35pm.

Lucknow: La Martiniere for girls’ bag Inter School Fest winner’s trophy
La Martiniere’s School for girls emerged as the winner of the Tress BAG-2013 Inter School Fest. The 1st runner up trophy was given to the host MR Jaipuria School. Different competitions were organised in a three day fest. Story writing, poetry recitation and quiz competition were organised. Other schools like Army Public School, Delhi Public School, St. Francis College, City Montessori School and Loreto Convent participated in the fest.
