PARADIP: Civil Judge (senior division), Jagatsinghpur, Prangya Panigrahi has lodged an FIR in Jagatsinghpur police station against a nazar for alleged misappropriation of Rs 7 lakh towards collection of fine during release of accused persons on bail.Sources said the nazar, Trilochan Das of Pokapur village under Jagatsinghpur police limits was entrusted with the duty to deposit fine collected at the treasury. But the civil judge found some irregularities in the deposit of said surety amount. During investigation, it was found that Das had allegedly misappropriated Rs 7 lakh by submitting false receipts and documents in the office. Das also did not give satisfactory reply or submit detailed report regarding the deposit of surety amount in the treasury.Jagatsinghpur police station IIC Satish Ray said a case had been registered. Das is absconding.
