Notwithstanding inclement weather on Thursday noon, supporters of Rabi Narayan Nanda hit the streets to celebrate his induction into Naveen Patnaik’s ministry. Nanda is the new School and Mass Education Minister.
Functions were organised at Jeypore, Borrigumma and Kumuliput areas. “The backward districts of KBK required a man like Nanda for ensuring development and strengthening the party base,” said Kishore Hota, State Executive Council member. On the other hand, Congress leaders termed the new development as “suicidal for BJD”. “We have seen no development in any area when Nanda was a minister a few years back. Rather instances of corruption were more then,” said Nari Mahanti, Congress secretary of Jeypore.
