BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday issued notices to the state government, University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangalore University and its Registrar (Administration) in connection with a public interest litigation petition filed challenging Dr BC Mylarappa’s appointment as the Registrar of the university. Petitioner Paramashivaiah has alleged that Mylarappa is facing a number of charges including misappropiration of funds.Hearing the petition, the division bench headed by Justice K L Manjunath issued notice to state government, UGC, BU and Mylarappa and adjourned the matter for further hearing.‘File Report’The High Court on Thursday directed the state government to give a complete report on the permission given to loudspeakers in religious institutions, the cases of violation and actions taken against the guilty. Jayanagar Residents Welfare Association has filed a petition seeking a ban on the installation of loudspeakers in religious institutions in residential area as they are causing a lot of noise disturbing the public.
