MUNNAR: The UDF Government will make all efforts to complete the pending tourism projects in Idukki, Tourism Minister A P Anil Kumar said here on Sunday. Inaugurating the ‘Munnar Mela 2012’ at the Tata Tea Ground, he said the government would conduct a study on the reasons for the delay in implementating the projects.The government will take all steps to implement the projects at the earliest, the Minister, who also inaugurated the Flower Show organised in connection with the mela, said.After the UDF Government came to power, it has allocated Rs 9 crore for taking up tourism projects in the district, and this is a proof of the government’s committment to developing the sector, he said.“Of the total amount, Rs 4.88 crore was allotted for the development of tourism in Munnar alone, the minister said.He said the mela would help in developing strong bonds between the people of Kerala and Tamil Nadu as a large number of Tamil-speaking people live in Munnar.
