City Expresss spoke to Corporator of Srinagar Ward T Timme Gowda on his morning walk in Lalbagh." I have been visiting Lalbagh for the last 15 years. The Horticulture Department has to work more to develop Lalbagh. Cleanliness is not up to the mark. A few lazy gardeners are burning the dry leaves instead of making arrangements to ensure that the leaves are converted into manure.Lalbagh being a tourist place, deserves more attention. I think that horticulture department officials have to put in a lot of effort to retain the lost glory of Lalbagh. There is a scope for planting saplings belonging to various species. Saplings compensate the loss of trees due to various reasons. I come across empty liquor bottles at the rocky area of the park. I came to know that security guards are not doing anything to prevent drunkards from misusing Lalbagh. One has to think twice before deciding to visit the rocky areas. I also came to know that security guards are letting people from Siddapura area to indulge in illegal activities. The authorities concerned are yet to repair the damaged water pipes for over three months. One can see water is being wasted because of these damaged pipes. There is also the stray dog menace. There are some people who feed these dogs. I am not against people feeding dogs but these dogs should not become a nuisance to this park. The BBMP authorities made arrangements to catch stray dogs but dogs are here again. There is a demand for more toilets but I oppose it since construction of toilets ruin the beauty of Lalbagh.Entry to Lalbagh is free up to 9 am. However, some employees collect cash from visitors from other cities who visit Lalbagh in the morning. I want the authorities to stop this unauthorised collection of entry fees".
