Dharmasati Gandaman Primary School's principal Meena Devi in hiding for the past 8 days has been arrested by SIT from Chhapra on Wednesday. SIT is interrogating Meena Devi to get leads in the mid-day meal case. Her advocate had earlier appeared in the court to file anticipatory bail on her behalf.
Meena Devi had come under the scanner on July 16th when 23 children had died after eating mid-day meal served to them.
Earlier a notice asked the principal Meena Devi to present herself before the police immediately failing which the process of attachment of her property will start, Saran Superintendent of Police Sujeet Kumar said.
After the tragedy came to light, police raids were on in different locations to net the principal. Meena Devi has been charged in the FIR under IPC 302 (murder) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).
