The man won both gold and silver medals in different categories at the Yogasana Championships.

Mahendra Gowda from the Kharwa Nathageri village, Honnavar, Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, India is currently dominating the headlines. According to Local 18 Kannada, Mahendra won both gold and silver medals in different categories at the Yogasana Championships held in Sri Lanka. He won first place and bagged the gold medal in the Artistic Yoga held at the Asian Pacific Yoga Championship held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He secured second place in Traditional Yoga, which helped him win the gold and silver medals. Mahendra is the son of Ganapathi Gowda and Mahalakshmi Gowda. He was an excellent yoga performer at the primary and high school levels. Mahendra was in the 7th standard of Kharwa Government Model Senior Primary School, when he participated in a national-level yoga competition. In that competition, he secured a silver medal by securing the second position.

Initially, Mahendra learned yoga under the guidance of physical education teacher Rajeshwari Hegde. Since then he has been continuously representing the college in state and national level yoga competitions. He is pursuing his degree in Bachelor of Commerce from an institution in Bengaluru. Currently, Mahendra is receiving good training from Rajesh Achari, a prominent yogi and yoga guru in Bengaluru.

The Local 18 visual shows Mahendra performing difficult yoga asanas by flexing his body in the toughest ways possible. At no point did he experience any discomfort, highlighting the training he had gone through to perform these movements. In one of the steps, he stretches his leg to his back and stands for a few seconds. This shows his resilience and strength as an incredible artist. In another feat, he bends his body upside down and then brings it back to the original position as well. He performs this feat many times.

A similar incident happened in 2022 when Siddharth, a 5-year-old, earned a silver medal in the national-level yoga competition that took place in Kodaikanal. Due to this outstanding accomplishment, Siddharth has garnered praise and recognition from notable figures. These included the Thanjavur District Collector and many others. From the age of 3, Siddharth has remarkably achieved 3 Nobel World Records in both Yoga and Kung Fu.
