New Delhi: The BJP on Monday said that Mayawati has failed to fulfill her promise to improve law and order situation in the state.
"Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati has failed to fulfill her promise of controlling law and order situation soon after taking charge," PTI quoted BJP state president Kesri Nath Tripathi said.
The law and order situation has deteriorated more than that during Mulayam Singh Yadav's regime, Tripathi said at a media gathering.
Murders, robberies, dacoities and kidnapping for ransom in Uttar Pradesh were still on.
Expressing his happiness on party's victory in Khaga by-elections Tripathi said that this had proved that brahmins, kshatriya and vaishya were still favouring BJP as a large number of electorates had franchised their right.
Alleging that people, brahmin and members of other community, with big pockets managed to get tickets from Mayawai. "But by and large, most of the Brahmins and people of other communities were still with BJP," he added.
Tripathi also hinted that, if proper proofs were provided, then disciplinary action will be taken against those who betrayed the party candidates during recently concluded assembly elections.
