Mangaluru: Bereft of quality time with friends and relatives, the Covid-19 lockdown has been a nightmare for many. But one teenager in Mangaluru decided he could not let the restrictions come in the way of social interactions and invited his friend over to his apartment – in a suitcase.
The “bored” teenager thought up the idea when the apartment residents in Arya Samaja road of Mangaluru east barred the entry of outsiders.
"When he went in with the suitcase, apartment security and residents got suspicious. When they checked the suitcase, they found his friend inside and informed the police," said a police official at Mangaluru East police station.
The parents of the teenagers called to the police station and the duo were allowed to go, without any case against them.
The state reported 17 new Covid-19 cases and 15 recoveries on Sunday, taking the total number of cases in the state to 232, including six deaths.
