BANGALORE: Suspecting the fidelity of his fiancee, a man murdered his 18-year-old wife-to-be and attempted suicide on the outskirts of the city. The victim Latha, was an attendant in a private college on Magadi Road, while the accused, Vasu, is a cab driver. Both were residents of Bilekallu on Magadi Road. After committing the murder, he had thrown the body on a roadside and tried to commit suicide. According to the police, the duo had fallen in love and got engaged with their parents’ consent. In the meantime, Latha had become close to one of her colleagues. “Vasu feared that Latha would desert him. On October 13, he took her to a temple in Bidadi and while returning they fought over the issue. Following a heated argument, he assaulted Latha and strangled her to death and threw the body on road side,” police explained. On Saturday, he tried to end his life by consuming poison. While his neighbours were shifting him to a hospital, Vasu revealed the matter about Latha’s murder. On Sunday, police recovered the body on Magadi Road and arrested Vasu.
