TIRUNELVELI: A man from Subramaniapuram set himself and his daughter on fire near Nanguneri on Wednesday. Velayutham (39) had a quarrel with his wife over money for buying alcohol. Under the influence of alcohol, he doused kerosene on himself and his house. He then set his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Gobika on fire. The two died on the spot. Neighbours Madasami (35), and his mother Manikathammal (55), who came to rescue him suffered  burns and were admitted to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Nanguneri police have registered a case.
