The software engineer allegedly stole foreign contributions meant for the famous Mumbai Dabbawalas.
Mumbai: The Cyber Cell of Mumbai Police has arrested a software engineer for allegedly stealing foreign contributions meant for the famous Mumbai Dabbawalas.
Sources told IBN7 that the man, identified as Manish Tripathi, works as an Assistant Manager for Bharat Petroleum. In 2006, he offered to prepare a website of the Dabbawalas. Once the site was up, he started inviting contributions for the Dabbawalas from abroad.
Police sources also said Tripathi started visiting foreign countries as a representative of the Dabbawalas and spoke at seminars and conferences.
Tripathi has been arrested. Police also found some foreign currency in his possession.
