Madras HC vacates stay on MBBS/BDS counselling
HC has given a go ahead to counselling for medical and dental courses.

New Delhi: The Madras High Court has given a go ahead to the counselling for medical and dental courses provided they have completed the previous course.

However, for the students who are already enrolled in other courses and are interested in joining the medical stream have to get a certificate from the concerned colleges saying that the students move will not be amounting to wasting a seat.

The High court on Monday had said that medical and dental counselling would not be held on Tuesday.

The interim order was passed because a batch of PILs were submitted asking for the deletion of names of students who had written plus two exams between 2000- 2005 from the rank list for MBBS /BDS admissions this year.

Students who were undergoing courses like B Pharmacy, B Sc (nursing), engineering, law, agriculture and veterinary could not apply for MBBS/dental till last year.

But this year, engineering, law, agriculture and veterinary courses have been removed from the list.

And some students, who have passed their plus two exams between 2000- 2005, have also become eligible to apply for MBBS/BDS.

Hence counselling has been put on a hold unless the court decides on the matter.

What's your reaction?
