Madhya Pradesh: Denied water from school hand pump, Dalit boy drowns in well

A Dalit boy drowned to death in Damoh in Madhya Pradesh after he was allegedly denied water from a school hand pump.

The eight-year-old boy's family has alleged that the boy was turned away when he went to get water from the school pump. The boy then drowned after he tried to get water from a well.

Five teachers, including the school's principal, have been suspended while an inquiry has also been ordered.
