THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has urged Karnataka Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda to ensure that PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madhani, jailed in Bangalore, received proper medical treatment. In a letter to the Karnataka Chief Minster, Achuthanandan also demanded that the treatment shall be provided free of cost. His letter was based on a recent correspondence by Madhani to the Opposition leader stating that he was in very bad health and expert treatment was essential for his survival. Achuthanandan said in his letter that the prolonged imprisonment of Madhani in the absence of a speedy trial is a challenge to law and justice.
