KASARAGOD: Kerala industries minister P K Kunhalikutty today said United Democratic Front Chief whip P C George had not consulted UDF before sending petitions to the Governor and President against the vigilance judge hearing the 1992 palmolein import case and it was solely his decision."It was his own decision to send the petition to the Governor and the President. He did not consult the front before doing so," he told reporters here.Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and KPCC had already distanced themselves from George’s decision, stating that neither the party nor UDF had anything to do with it.The opposition had also criticised action, alleging that his remarks against the judge amounted to an attack on the constitution.Kunhalikutty hit out at the opposition, saying they were not interested in the state's development, but merely in filing cases against the government. "They are restless after seeing UDF's impressive' peformance, especially in implementing programmes charted out during our 100 days plan", he said.Congress MLA V D Sateeshan has also come out against George saying his action was 'unconstituional' and 'undemocratic'.All orders and judgements of judicial officers may not be fair, but there are many remedies in the constitution and criminal procedure code to rectify them.Aggrieved parties can approach higher courts against and appeal, seek revision and review of the orders, he said.
