Notes left by a lecturer of a Chennai college eventually led to her rescue from a gang which had kidnapped her.
According to sources, Defi (28), daughter of a financier Gilbert in Kuzithurai in Kanyakumari, was working a lecturer of a private college in Chennai. She had gone home recently as her engagement function was on August 22. Her father, had given `15 lakh as loan to KG Ramesh Kumar, a Congress functionary. As his daughter’s engagement had been fixed, he demanded the money back.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Kumar with the help of his friends, had allegedly kidnapped Defi on August 18. They took her to Tirunelveli and Kodaikanal and finally to Ooty. Defi in an effort to escape scribbled her plight on pieces of paper and threw them through the windows.
A worker chanced upon the pieces informed police and she was rescued.
