Kanshi Ram's brother to launch new party

Lucknow: Dalbara Singh, brother of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder late Kanshi Ram, on Saturday said he along with his family members would launch a political outfit to "expose" Mayawati so that she does not succeed in "expoliting" the sympathy of Dalits to gain power in Uttar Pradesh.

He staged a sit-in at Patel Park in Lucknow alleging that his brother did not die of prolonged illness but was kept "captive" and "slowly poisoned" to death.

Dalbara demanded a CBI probe into the circumstances leading to Kanshi Ram's death.

"Mayawati did not even allow us to meet our ailing brother," he told reporters adding that it was all part of her "design to alienate him from his family members for political reasons".
