Judgment Day jitters for BSY

BANGALORE: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s fate will be decided on Friday as the Supreme Court is all set to pronounce its verdict on the recommendation of the CEC for a CBI probe into the allegations against him.Yeddyurappa is facing charges of misusing his position as chief minister to get huge funds from mining firms to a trust run by his family members by allowing illegal mining.If the SC orders a CBI inquiry, Yeddyurappa’s hopes of returning as the chief minister will vanish and he might even face arrest. If not, then he will stand better chances of either getting  reinstated as the chief minister or replacing the incumbent chief minister with someone of his choice.Knowing the importance of Friday’s judgement better than anyone else, Yeddyurappa was reportedly dull and tense throughout the day on Thursday though he held several meetings with his followers and kept smiling at the visitors to his Race Course Road residence in the city.However, Yeddyurappa’s close associates maintained that was not at all bothered, and that he is confident of a judgement in his favour as he had not done anything illegal.
