Srinagar: Protests erupted in Srinagar on Friday after a National Conference worker died in police custody.
The party worker was handed over to the crime department by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for taking money from people promising them ministerial berth.
The government has ordered a judicial probe into the custodial death.
Four police officials, including the Chief Minister's personal security officer, have been transferred.
However, the Opposition, PDP, wants the Chief Minister and his Home Minister to step down to ensure a fair probe.
