New Delhi: Jat protesters in Jind have blocked roads and rail routes, cutting of Jind from the rest of the country.

They are demanding a fresh probe into the Mirchpur incident in which two Dalits were burnt to death last April. The protesters want 98 Jats who stand accused to be brought back to Hissar jail.

Ten companies of central paramilitary forces have been sent to Jind after the Haryana Government appealed for central assistance to contain the Jat agitation.

A Delhi court, on January 9, had directed the Haryana government to move all the 98 accused from Hisar jail to a Tihar jail.

A Dalit, Tara Chand and his polio-stricken daughter were killed when their house was set afire on April 21 last year in Mirchpur district after which 98 members of the Jat community were booked.
