Tehran: Tens of Iranian students on Monday disturbed a speech by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the Amir Kabir University in Tehran.
The students interrupted the president's speech by shouting "death to the dictator" and even tried to storm the podium but were prevented by other students, Fars news agency said.
The incident also led to a fight between pro- and anti-Ahmadinejad students, the agency added.
Ahmadinejad, however, reportedly remained calm and just said that those against suppression of freedom of opinion were themselves preventing the majority in the audience from hearing his speech.
Eyewitnesses said that the protesting students also burnt pictures of the president on the university campus.
