New Delhi: Former CWG Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi's troubles refuse to die down. Now, the International Olympics Committee (IOC) has written to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Acting President VK Malhotra asking what action he is contemplating against Suresh Kalmadi, who is accused in the Commonwealth Games scam.
The IOC's National Olympics Committee (NOC) relations Director Piere Mairo has sought details of the chargesheet filed against Kalmadi.
CNN-IBN has accessed a copy of the IOC's letter, which wants to know the IOA's action on the Ethics Commission order suspending Kalmadi from the IOA.
IOA's Ethics Commission, which passed the order suspending Kalmadi was disbanded in December last year.
The IOC asks Malhotra to explain when will he call a general body meet of IOA to decide on Kalmadi.
Kalmadi, who was released from Tihar Jail last month, has decided to stay away from the IOA for the time being, but CNN-IBN has learnt that he will not resign from the post of IOA President.
The status quo suits both Kalmadi and the IOA, which has dragged its feet on taking action against him. With Kalmadi loyalists enjoying majority in the house, even the 1/3rd signatures required to initiate action against him is a tall order.
