Infants death: Hospital denies charge of oxygen shortage

Superintendent of SVU Ruia hospital Dr J Veeraswamy has received the reports regarding the deaths of three infants on Saturday morning, from doctors who had attended on the infants.

The doctors in their self-explanatory report said that the three infants had been brought to the hospital in the eleventh hour, while they were suffering from just birth complications and denied the allegations that the infants had died due to shortage of oxygen in the hospital.

Veeraswamy told Express, that neither the district administration nor the principal secretary health had sought any report regarding the issue from them, as of now.

District medical and health officer (DMHO), Lalitha Kumari said that generally the district collector or principal secretary seeks report directly from hospital superintendent as the DMHO post is not superior to superintendent of general hospital.
