KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar police finally made a breakthrough in infants abduction case and arrested five persons here on Wednesday. The kidnapped babies were safely handed over to their parents. According to Karimnagar subdivision OSD (crime) DV Srinivasa Rao, the gang includes kingpin, A Jyothi Rani, 22, who abducts infants while the others namely Swaroopa (40), T Srinivas (40) and A Kanka Raju (30) are the ones who assisted her.
Apart from the four, police arrested one P Dayakar who was involved in buying a baby. "Our search teams found them moving suspiciously on the Government civil hospital premises and nabbed them," Srinivasa Rao told to media persons.Police enquiry revealed that the gang operated in Karimangar, Warangal and Siddipet. They were involved in kidnapping a sevenmonthold baby from Warangal Govt hospital on November 2. Another infant abduction case came to light on October 22 in Siddipet. And, on October 12, the woman had abducted an infant from Karimnagar Civil Hospital.
