Washington: A teenage Indian student has been named Editor-in-Chief of the online edition of Tattler, the newspaper brought out by the Bethesda Chevy Chase High School (BCC) in Bethesda Maryland.

Srimathi Sridhar, a junior at BCC, one of the top ranking high schools in Montgomery County, Maryland in the United States, was a staff writer for the school newspaper.

She is enrolled in the International Bacculaureate Diploma Programme and will be graduating in May next year.

Quite early in her school years, Shrimati's talent as a writer was noticed by her school teachers whenever she presented them with her articles and essays as part of her school assignments.

Unlike the routine writing that others produced, Shrimati seemed to have gone ahead and written passionately about her summer vacations, her field trip to areas of tourist interest in and around Maryland and about the world of difference -- life in India and the United States.

Teachers were so impressed with her ability as a wordsmith that they asked her to write for the school mouthpiece, Tattler.

Sridhar, who spent her early childhood days in Singapore, wants to pursue further studies in English Literature and journalism and has started looking at colleges and universities that will eventually shape her career as a scribe.

She says her inspiration to be a journalist comes from her father who is a well-known Washington DC-based Indian journalist and has been residing in the United States for the past 12 years.
