KOZHIKODE: The first state conference of the IMA Hospital Board of India (Kerala State Chapter) was inaugurated by the IMA state president Dr J Rajagopalan Nair here on Sunday. In his inaugural address, he said that IMA would give leadership to the hospitals in the country through the IMA Hospital Board of India.He also raised the point that trade unionism should be banned in hospitals. He clarified that all sections of the  hospital employees can have service organisations and a grievance redressal mechanism should be institutionalised by the government agencies.Representatives of 225 hospitals across the state attended the meeting.Dr R V Asokan chaired a panel on the discussion on ‘The Current situation and the entry of political trade unionism in hospitals’.Dr Prem Nair, medical director of Amrita Hospital, Dr Mohan of Muthoot Hospital, Col  Rajeev Mannali of Indo American Hospital, Dr T N Babu Raveendran of IMA, Dr M Bhaskaran of IMA took part in the panel discussion.
