I'm committed to fight terrorism: Modi
Chief Minister Narendra Modi asserted that he was committed to fight terrorism and ready to lay down his life for the cause.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that he was committed to fight terrorism and ready to lay down his life for the cause.

Speaking at a function in Cambay town of neighbouring Anand district, Modi made a reference to the recent debate on the Shorabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case in the Lok Sabha.

"If they want me to be hanged, I am prepared. But I will not give up the fight against terrorism and will continue it for ever," PTI quoted Modi as saying.

Modi, who faces Assembly elections later this year, blamed the former chief ministers of Gujarat for not making any attempt to revive the Cambay port which has huge potential for development.

In the past, Cambay port had been humming with trade, business and economic activities. It will be revived again, he assured.

The CM gave the example of development of Mundra port in Kutch region, which he said was possible due to efforts of his BJP government. "Development of Cambay port will take place on the same line."

Without naming former CMs Madhavsinh Solanki, Babubhai Patel and Shankarsinh Vaghela, all elected from this region, Modi wanted to know why they did not make any attempt for revival of Cambay port, which has a glorious history.
