I got disturbed by the wrong line-call: Saina Nehwal
Saina Nehwal said a wrong line-call in the third game made her lose focus and squander three match points to lose the contest.

New Delhi: The top seed at the India Open, Saina Nehwal blamed a wrong line-call in the third game made her lose focus and that cost her three match points to eventually lose the match here on Thursday at the Siri Fort Sports Complex.

The World No.2 lost her women's singles round of 16 match against Yui Hashimoto of Japan 21-13, 12-21, 20-22. "I got pretty disturbed by the wrong line-call (leading 20-17) and missed out on the next two points. I just lost my focus and everything happened so quickly after that I just couldn't concentrate. I went out of rhythm and then could not control the game. That moment came and went so quickly and I could not get hold of the situation," said a disappointed Saina after her defeat.

But Saina wants to move on from the loss and wants to come back next year and give her best.

"I tried my best here. There was no pressure on me. At 20-17, the match was over. But it happens. Sometimes decisions do not go in your favour. I will have to be mentally strong in the future so that this does not occur again. I will come back again next year and give my best," Saina said.

When asked if the line-call review system will help on such instances, Saina replied in the affirmative. "Yes, I think this is where the line-call review system will help the players on getting the right decision."
