Tech-fuelled numbers like Sahara Nights and Betelgeuse have granted British DJ Joe Garret  aka Temple One much appreciation across the globe, and garnered support from trance giants  like Tiesto and Armin van Buuren. The DJ was at Bangalore this week for a performance at the Pebble. He tells us about his early years and support system. In the beginningI had a general love for all kinds of music and grew up listening to dance music-I got my  first turntable set at 12 and never looked back.Strings attachedI inherited a lot of my musical side from my father-he was a guitarist in a band-I love  anything melodic and am a great fan of guitar greats like Steve Vai and Dave Gilmore (from  Pink Floyd). Also, anything trance and circa 1997 does it for me.The support systemIt’s a great feeling to have my music supported by guys like Armin Van Buuren and Tiesto in  the trance music industry. I idolised them when starting out.On my iPodASOT 2011- it’s a great soundtrack for the summer.
