HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has resumed land measuring 24 acres and 23 guntas near Moosapet in Balanagar mandal on Friday. The present market value of the land is said to be around Rs 400 crore. The said land was given to GS Gupta’s SBPL Infrastructure Ltd to develop the Integrated Mega Agriculture Hub (IMAH). A team of HMDA officials from estate wing, town planning, surveyors, revenue authorities from Balanagar Mandal and enforcement staff arrived at the spot and took physical possession of the said land by doing panchanama.Speaking to Express, HMDA officials said that after receiving orders from Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) officials, HMDA started the process to take over the HMDA land by first taking the legal opinion. “We could have resumed the land before but we wanted to be careful and take legal opinion so that there should not be any problem in future” HMDA officials said.Security guards hired by HMDA have been put on 24 hour duty at Moosapet to protect the land from lurking land sharks. “We will write a letter to MAUD informing about possession of land and termination of agreement”, they said. A few days ago, the tourism department had resumed land worth Rs 300 cr of Gandhi Medical College at Basheerbagh after terminating the lease agreement with GSG constructions, owned by Gupta and others.
