The Kerala High Court on Monday asked the Controller of Entrance Examinations to re-evaluate the answer sheets of six candidates who appeared for the recently held entrance examinations to the medical post graduate courses.
A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice A M Shaffique passed the order while considering the petitions filed by Dr Sajith of Thiruvananthapuram Medical College seeking a directive to the Controller of Entrance Examinations to revalue all answer sheets of the entrance examination conducted for admission to postgraduate/diploma medical courses and publish a new rank list on the basis of the revaluation.
The petitioners alleged that the answer keys for the various questions in the examination were incorrect. The answer keys were found wrong when they applied for the same under the Right to Information Act as directed by the Supreme Court.
The petitioners submitted that the rank list could not be sustained in this context.
The state government had filed the opinion on the expert committee report of the recently held medical PG entrance examinations.
The court asked to re-evaluate the answers of the petitioners with reference to the opinion of the experts only on disputed questions and asked to produce the result and their ranks in sealed cover.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case to October 30.
