BANGALORE: Heavy rains are expected to continue for the next two days over coastal and south interior Karnataka, according to the weather man.B Puttanna, director, Bangalore Meteorological Centre, told Express, “Rainfall during the month of September is normal.The low pressure over central and Arabian Sea and rising above Gujarat, is bringing about heavy rains in excess of 125 mm, around Malnad region, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts.” Meanwhile, pressure variation is leading to strong wind and vigorous monsoon.He said, “Moderate rainfall is expected over northern Karnataka and Bangalore city as well.” Meanwhile, rivers in the state were in spate.In Belgaum district water levels in Malaprabha, Ghataprabha, Markandeya, Doodhganga, Vedaganga and Krishna rivers were rising while in Kodagu, water level rose in the Cauvery.
