The ban on Uber was imposed after a 27-year-old woman in Delhi was allegedly raped by a driver when he was dropping her home in December 2014.
In a relief for app based radio cab service Uber, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday set aside state government's order rejecting the taxi operator's application for licence.
The stay by the Delhi High Court effectively means that Uber can re-apply for licence to ply on roads in Delhi.
The ban on Uber was imposed after a 27-year-old woman in Delhi was allegedly raped by a driver of the cab service when he was dropping her home in December 2014.
Meanwhile, other app based radio cabs, Taxi for Sure and Ola, though continue to face a transport ban in Delhi.
Raising doubts on a complete ban on app-based cabs, the High Court said that the Delhi government can impose strict conditions on their plying, which would be followed by Uber as well.
