BANGALORE: The High Court dismissed the writ petition filed by Assistant Executive Engineer (EE) of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) D Ramegowda challenging the FIR registered by the Lokayukta against him.Jayamma of Arkalgud in Hassan district had lodged a complaint against Ramegowda, the present Chickpet BBMP Executive Engineer, with the Lokyukta for allegedly demolishing her shop for widening the road though the High Court had granted stay against it when he was posted there as an Assistant Executive Engineer of PWD.Jayamma had alleged that Ramegowda demolished her shop because she refused to pay the bribe he demanded.In their report, the Lokayukta stated that the officials had committed a gross misconduct while discharing their duries as public servants and there was ample evidence to show that they had taken law into their hands while demolishing the shop.The division bench consisting of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice H G Ramesh dismissed the petititon filed by Ramegowda.
